Testimony Turns to Evidence, Intent, and Missing Video
Huntsville, AL – May 5, 2026 – As the trial deepens, the focus shifts from what happened that night to why—and whether the actions taken were deliberate or driven by fear. With law enforcement and federal testimony now on record, the case is increasingly centered on intent, preparation, and what may be absent from the evidence.

Day 2 of testimony is underway in the trial of a Madison County man accused of shooting and killing a tow truck driver.
Warren Siao is charged with murder in the death of Jayson Click.
Investigators say Click was repossessing Siao’s car at his home on Wedgewood Terrace in December 2023 when Siao shot and killed him.
Tuesday morning, three deputies who responded to the scene that night, along with an investigator from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, took the stand. Deputies walked the jury through what they encountered upon arrival, while the FBI agent detailed home security footage recovered from Siao’s residence.
This follows Monday’s testimony, when Click’s widow described his repossession procedures, emphasizing that he consistently operated by the book.
Siao has maintained that he believed Click and his team were attempting to steal from him. During a stand your ground hearing in April, he testified that his intent was only to scare the individuals away, believing they were burglars.

Prosecutors, however, argued that Siao was aware he was behind on car payments and knew repossession was a possibility. They further highlighted that while a handgun was accessible in his bedroom, Siao instead retrieved a rifle equipped with a sound suppressor before firing at the repossession team.
Siao’s ex-wife testified that obtaining the rifle required him to travel from the upstairs bedroom to the basement, pass through a storm shelter, and access a secured safe.
Investigators have also stated that although thousands of home security recordings existed, footage of the actual shooting is missing. The defense attempted to prevent this detail from being introduced at trial, but the judge denied the motion shortly before proceedings began.
At the outset of the trial, Siao’s attorney indicated that Siao is expected to take the stand in his own defense.
