It is no surprise, or anything new, that violent encounters with the consumers are a too common risk in the industry. Nationally, 53% of agency owners report that they, their staff or business have been the victims of violent activity in the last 12 months.
Damage to company vehicles and violent encounters with guns were the most common types of incidents at 17% each by affirmative responses.
As the result of record high unemployment, media frenzy and long periods of consumer isolation 67% of agency owners believe that there will be increases in violence in the field as SIP restrictions loosen and agencies increase repossession volume.
