Repo Man Hit and Dragged by Runaway Borrower

Boise, ID – August 26, 2014 – A Repo Man attempting to repossess a truck from a frantic borrower was dragged and run over at the onset of the borrowers attempt to flee which led to a police chase.

Two Repo Men attempted to repossess a pickup Monday afternoon when police report that Earle Edward Vine, 42, fled the scene of the repossession and in the process began to drag the repossession agent. Vine struck the unidentified Repo Man with the back tires of the pickup before driving away, according to police.

Police then spotted Vine speeding and failing to yield to traffic a short time later near Veterans Memorial Parkway and Adams Street. Police report that the pickup was moving so fast that a large piece of metal was thrown from the truck bed onto Veterans Memorial Parkway.

Officers attempted to pull Vine over, but he continued his flight northbound on Veterans Memorial Parkway, swerving onto the sidewalk to avoid colliding with other vehicles, police said.

During the chase, Vine finally slammed his truck into a light pole on 36th Street and Sunset Avenue before getting out and fleeing on foot, according to police. Witnesses to the crash directed pursuing officers toward the suspect and they found Vine a short distance away.

Vine was booked into the Ada County Jail and charged with felony aggravated battery and eluding a police officer. He is due to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.

The repossession agent was taken to the hospital where he continues to receive medical treatment for his injuries.
