Miramar, FL – What began as a simple shopping center repossession attempt quickly escalated into two separate armed confrontations involving the same borrower, according to police. Court records allege the suspect first threatened a repo crew at gunpoint, then days later fired a round into a tow truck during another recovery attempt involving the same Lexus.

A South Florida man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say two separate repossession attempts involving his Lexus GS turned violent within a five-day span, culminating in a gunshot fired into a tow truck during an October recovery attempt.

According to court documents, 46-year-old Torey Eugene Williams was taken into custody Wednesday in connection with incidents that occurred in Davie and Miramar during October 2025.

The first confrontation reportedly took place on Oct. 10 in Davie. Investigators say a repossession agent and a spotter located Williams’ Lexus GS at a shopping center located at 6946 Stirling Road and had already begun lifting the vehicle when Williams allegedly approached the crew armed with a handgun.

An arrest warrant states Williams walked toward the repossessors with his finger on the trigger while ordering them to “put my car down,” while pointing the firearm at the repo agent. Authorities say the agent immediately unhooked the vehicle, after which Williams entered the Lexus and drove away.

Just five days later, another repossession attempt at Williams’ Miramar residence allegedly escalated even further.

Miramar police said a recovery agent attempting to repossess the same Lexus at Williams’ home on Riviera Drive was confronted by Williams, who was again armed. During the encounter, authorities allege a shot was fired into the agent’s tow truck.

According to police reports, Williams later admitted he exited the residence with a firearm and demanded the driver “put my muthaf—ing car down.” Williams reportedly claimed the gun discharged accidentally after he slipped and dropped the weapon.

Detectives noted, however, that surveillance footage allegedly showed Williams exiting the home and turning toward the tow truck and driver at the moment the firearm discharged.

It is unclear if the agents on both attempts were from different agencies. It is also unknown who the lender was or what, if any asignment portal they assigned it on as gun vioplance flags should have alerted teh second agents.

Months after the incidents, investigators filed a probable cause affidavit in Broward County court on April 27. Williams was subsequently arrested Wednesday.

Court records show Williams is now facing two counts of aggravated assault related to the Davie incident, along with one count of shooting or throwing a deadly missile into a vehicle, dwelling, or aircraft tied to the Miramar case.

The source article does not make any mention of what spurred the count of throwing a deadly missile into a vehicle.

As of Thursday morning, Broward Sheriff’s Office records indicated Williams remained housed at the agency’s Main Jail on a $5,000 bond.
