Warren Siao was sentenced Thursday after a Madison County jury found him guilty of murder in May. Prosecutors said Siao shot and killed Click while Click was attempting to repossess a vehicle on April 18, 2023.

Circuit Judge Ruth Ann Hall ordered Siao to serve 55 years in the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Case Recap

The case has been closely followed by the repossession industry since Click, owner of B&S Collateral Recovery, was fatally shot while conducting a lawful repossession in Madison County in December of 2023.

According to testimony presented during the trial, Click had arrived to recover a vehicle when he encountered Warren Siao. Prosecutors argued that Siao opened fire, killing Click during the recovery attempt.GUILTY! Jury Convicts Borrower in Jayson Click Repo Murder

The criminal case moved slowly through the court system over the following two years. Siao was initially denied bond but later became the subject of additional court proceedings after failing to appear as required, delaying the case even further. During that time, Click’s family also pursued a wrongful death lawsuit, although that action was ultimately dismissed while the criminal prosecution continued.

Jury selection began earlier this year, followed by several days of testimony from investigators, witnesses, and forensic experts. After deliberating, the jury returned a guilty verdict on the murder charge in May, setting the stage for Thursday’s sentencing.

The 55-year prison sentence brings the criminal prosecution to a close, concluding one of the most widely followed violent crime cases involving a repossession professional in recent years. 2023 was the deadliest year in the repossession industries recorded memory.
