Where the repossession industry gets its news

The Walls Are Closing In…

The Walls Are Closing In…
The Walls Are Closing In…

In just a few weeks many men and women will be gathering in Orlando for the North American Repossessors Summit where they will meet with lenders, forwarders, insurance brokers, auction agents, association representatives, but most importantly fellow agents from across the nation. Agents, many who share the feeling that the walls are closing in.

The recovery industry faces many challenges including but not limited to compliance, safety, communication, storage, insurance, electric vehicles, and the rising costs of daily operations. It is my hope that this gathering of innovative and resourceful people, as promised, will bring the solutions and answers to many of these pressing issues.

It is with this thought in mind that I would like to bring to your attention and possibly provide you with some food for thought and possible discussion at NARS a powerful insight that has the potential to transform both your personal and professional life: the significance of being selective about the company you keep.

Understanding that people you can either lift you up or pull you down. People can recognize and appreciate your efforts, contributing positively to your agency’s growth and success, or they can drain your energy with their chronic dissatisfaction. The choice of who you let into your lives is crucial to your personal and business satisfaction, growth, and success.

When we first had the concept of starting a 20 group in the asset recovery industry, Millard Land, Rusty Ansell, and I imagined the power of being surrounded by individuals who would see the value in what a 20 group could do, a group who would cheer each other on, and who would offer constructive feedback on issues confronting the asset recovery industry.

We realized that these are the relationships that not only enhance our personal fulfillment but also propel us forward in our careers. We knew the need to surround ourselves with the right people and unlock the door to our brightest future. — We realized that our potential would be limitless if we chose the members of the 20 group wisely.

It was evident that self-respect and self-awareness would be the primary tools for evaluating our potential members in the group. We wrote down a membership manifest asking the questions: will a relationship with this person serve the growth of the group? Will each member appreciate and respect the contributions of the other members? Will the selected members understand that they will be in an environment where they must respect and value each other?

In a twenty group the significance of selectively investing your time and energy must have returns on that investment. Your resources are finite, and how you allocate them can make the difference between thriving and merely surviving. By choosing to associate with individuals who provide support, constructive feedback, and appreciation, you’re not just building a network; you’re cultivating a field in which your personal and professional growth can flourish.

In the formation of the Eagle Group XX, we considered the benefits of surrounding our members with supportive individuals and we believed that those benefits would far outweigh the temporary discomfort of distancing yourself from those who do not contribute positively to your life. The contrast couldn’t be starker, and the choice, while challenging, is clear. We felt that embracing the discomfort that comes with making these decisions would be a sign of growth and self-respect.

To you, the current members of the asset recovery industry, I say this: you have the ability to choose your social and professional environment. This choice is one of the most powerful things that you possess. It can dictate your happiness, your growth, and ultimately, your success in the recovery industry. Don’t ever underestimate the impact of the company you keep. It’s time to make deliberate choices about who you spend your time with, ensuring that each relationship reflects your values and supports your journey.

While you travel to Orlando and while attending the NARS I urge you to take a moment to reflect on the company you keep and the associations you belong to. Are they lifting you higher, or holding you back? Remember, your time, energy, and efforts are invaluable; invest them wisely. Surround yourself with people who recognize your worth, appreciate your contributions, and encourage your growth.

I would welcome you to “Fly with The Eagles and other members of Allied Finance Adjusters”.

This is not just advice—it’s a strategy for a fulfilling and successful business in the asset recovery industry.

Now, let me close this missive by reminding you of a very powerful truth: your time spent at NARS, your energy, your essence, they’re all extremely valuable. They’re not to be squandered in the unattainable pursuit of pleasing everyone. The quest for universal approval is a mirage. Instead, invest your time and efforts in those who reciprocate with appreciation, those who would challenge you constructively, and those who will always stand by you in the face of adversity. Remember, the right company doesn’t just happen; you choose it, you cultivate it.

So, while attending NARS, make those choices with intention and clarity. Surround yourself with the innovative leaders, the visionaries, the people of action who not only seek their own growth but also work constantly to lift others up. A group of men and women such as those in the Eagle Group XX/USA and Allied Finance Adjusters. Together, the members of the Eagle Group XX/USA united with the members of Allied Finance Adjusters are not just stronger; they are unstoppable. They fly above the storms and are capable of not just surviving but rather prevailing where others have fallen.
