Yesterday, it was reported that Primeritus Financial Services Inc. was closing its El Dorado Hills office effective October 19th. While it is true that those 78 positions at that location were closed with it, Primeritus wishes to clarify the reasoning for this which may have been misunderstood by the brief nature of the article.
“Primeritus is not down-sizing.” advised VP of Client Services and Sales, Jessica Rosselli. “Instead, it has decided to consolidate and increase the size of its operations in its other offices outside of California. The Primeritus Family of Companies will continue to service repossessions and remarketing in the state of California. The closing of this office has nothing to do with COVID-19 or the current economic environment. As for the layoffs in April 2020, those were temporary, and those employees returned to work with the company a few months later.”
Given the operational expenses and high tax environment of California, this should come as little surprise. Location Services moved their headquarters from California to tax friendly Michigan in 2019 and the fact that Primeritus was still operating in California should have been the real story!
