Arnold, MO – July 3, 2023 – There is rarely a stealthy way to repossess a Harley. Contact with the borrower is almost unavoidable. And contact is what happened last June when an agent got into an argument with the debtor. That debtor now faces assault charges.
Arnold Police report that back on June 12th at about 7:15pm, an unnamed 40-year-old repossession agent from Crystal City went to an address on Diane Drive to repossess a 2023 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
An argument ensued and the unnamed 36-year-old borrower shoved the agent into a car, got onto the motorcycle and rode away. The repossessor was reportedly uninjured.
Police located the borrower shortly after at about 7:50pm at the Jim Edwards Archery Park. Officers issued the man a summons to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for fourth-degree assault. The borrower was allowed to leave the park on the motorcycle according to Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher.
A conviction of fourth-degree assault can result in up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000.
Editor’s Note: I suppose it’s a good thing this didn’t happen at the archery park. Might have turned out much worse.
