Aggravated menacing, really?

Hubbard Township, OH – December 27, 2021 – It took police a week to file charges against the debtor who fired on repossession agent Zachery Baumgardner, but better late than never. Unfortunately, if the bond and plea are any indication of the severity the court will view this case with, a slap on the wrist may be in the works.

On Monday the 20th, debtor David Rexroad appeared in court facing the initial hearing on the charges of “aggravated menacing.” These charges stem from the events of December 15th, when Rexroad allegedly fired upon repossession agent Zachery Baumgardner.

As reported earlier, Baumgardner claims that upon his arriving at a residence on Woodbine Avenue

in Hubbard Township at 8:30 pm, Monday evening the 15th, a simple recovery went sour.

“Went out on a call and as we got the customer’s vehicle, we pull out of the driveway and he proceeded to come out of the house screaming and discharged his firearm at us,” he told a WKBN reporter in a televised interview the following Wednesday.

Rexroad has pleaded not guilty, and his bond was set at $7,500. In addition, Rexroad was ordered not to contact the agent.

The debtor, Rexroad, is due back in court on February 2^nd, 2022, for his pretrial hearing.
