Where the repossession industry gets its news

OH Recovery Agent greeted with gunfire

“Palms are sweaty, my heart’s racing, my head’s blank. I’m just trying to make sure I didn’t die,”

Hubbard Township, OH – December 15, 2021 – Before Monday night, repossession agent Zachery Baumgardner had been shot at twice in his ten-year career. Number three came on an 8:30pm repossession on Woodbine Avenue.

Arriving at a residence on Woodbine Avenue in Hubbard Township at 8:30 pm, Monday evening, it was a simple recovery that soon went sour.

“Went out on a call and as we got the customer’s vehicle, we pull out of the driveway and he proceeded to come out of the house screaming and discharged his firearm at us,” he told a WKBN reporter in a televised interview Wednesday.

“Palms are sweaty, my heart’s racing, my head’s blank. I’m just trying to make sure I didn’t die,” Baumgardner added.

The whole scene was a frightening one for Baumgardner, a repossession agent for an unnamed repossession agency, who says that he was just trying to do his job and make it home to his family. “It’s definitely something you can never get used to. It’s always scary,” Baumgardner stated. “You can’t shoot at people and think it’s OK,”.

For anyone who may find themselves in a position where their property is being repossessed Baumgardner has this message; “If you’re behind on your payments more than you should be, shooting at people like that isn’t the answer… Calling the police would be the first thing you should ever do when your vehicle is being pulled out of your driveway because they’re doing their job like you do your job every day.”

For unknown reasons, the Hubbard Township police continue to investigate and claim that charges are pending.
