Ace was a Board member of IG., Inc./RSIG and its predecessors since June of 1989. Ace served as Chairman of IG., Inc./RSIG and served on the Financial Control Committee as well as the Membership and Budget Committees.

He carried himself as a true statesman for this industry. He was rarely seen at an industry event not wearing a suit, never with a hair out of place, his navy-blue canvas tote, a legal pad and pen ready to take copious notes. Ace had a smile that could light up a room and a voice and a way of presenting in front of a group that made you sit up and take notice.

Ace will be remembered as a friend to everyone he met and a great source of strength and support to everyone who knew him. He was an active member of the Rotary Club, a tree farmer, avid traveler and a wine connoisseur. At industry events, he could often be seen picking up the left behind hotel pens and note pads in the meeting rooms after the event in order to donate them to schools in Africa as part of his Rotarian charity work. Next time you’re enjoying a glass of wine, consider a Silver Oak Merlot – it was one of his and his wife Maggie’s favorites to share on their anniversary.

Ace is survived by his wife Margaret “Maggie” Carter and his two sons Andrew and Christian. Funeral arrangements have not been made at this time, but our sympathies and condolences go out to his family and the immeasurable number of people who were lucky enough to have known him. He will be greatly missed.
