Brother-In-Law of Repossessing Party Taken Hostage
Anchorage, AK – April 13, 2026 – Like a story from a Cohen Brothers film; it began with a repossession. Hours later a man uninvolved with the incident was kidnapped at gunpoint from his home. Why? To exchange him for the repossessed vehicle.
According to court documents, a 911 call was made around 1:30 p.m. Saturday reporting that a 45-year-old man had been kidnapped in Anchorage and taken to Palmer, Alaska. The caller told dispatchers the man was being held in connection with a dispute over a repossessed white GMC Yukon.
Police allege that Marcus Sparger, 36, and Alexandra Perdomo, 42, went to the man’s home earlier that day armed with a firearm. The victim told investigators that the suspects loaded the weapon in front of him and threatened to injure him if he did not cooperate.
The man was then forced to drive the suspects in his own vehicle, a Dodge Nitro. He told police that Sparger sat in the front seat with the firearm positioned on the floor and pointed in his direction during the drive.
The group first went to a relative’s residence to look for the Yukon, but it was not there. They then drove toward Palmer, where the victim was instructed to arrange a meeting with a family member to bring the vehicle to a Fred Meyer location.
Before the meeting took place, the victim’s relative contacted police and reported the alleged kidnapping. Officers from Palmer Police and the Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene.
Police located the victim and Sparger in the parking lot and detained Sparger. The victim was recovered safely. Perdomo had left the area in the victim’s vehicle without permission. But later returned to the same location, where officers conducted a traffic stop and took her into custody.
Investigators reported that both suspects had compelled the victim against his will, threatened him with a firearm, and took his vehicle without permission. An AR-15-style rifle was later recovered from the vehicle.
Sparger told police that his Yukon had been taken from his home earlier that day and that he confronted the victim in an effort to recover it. Perdomo told investigators she was acquainted with both parties and admitted to bringing the firearm into the residence.
Both suspects have been charged with kidnapping for ransom, third-degree assault, robbery, and vehicle theft. A judge has yet to determine of bail will be set for the two.
The name of the person, company or lender who authorized or conducted the repossession are not released. They are unknown at this point.
