Shooting Caught on Truck Camera

Charlotte, NC – April 28, 2025 – It was just after 1:30 am when the agent attempted the repossession. When the debtor’s son objected, he did the right thing and withdrew. Seven minutes later and a couple of blocks away while he was updating the system notes, all hell broke loose. Over a dozen rounds were fired and he was hit.

NAR Services in Charlotte, North Carolina reported to us the event as it was later discovered to have unfolded. Truck cameras captured the entire event including the shooter.

Repossession Agent Shot in CharlotteAt 1:45 am, an agent, whose name is being withheld for his privacy, arrived at the residence of an unnamed borrower to repossess a vehicle in a west Charlotte neighborhood near South Ramsey Street, which is near Rozzelles Ferry Road. Spotting the vehicle, he backed into it. Very quickly, he was confronted by a young man identified only as the borrower’s son.

An altercation is reported to have ensued between the son and the agent. Wisely and to avoid a breach of peace, the agent withdrew from the attempt and left. Seven minutes later, things went bad, really bad.

Having driven several blocks away, the agent pulled over next to a park where he began updating his system on the results of the repossession attempt. Unknown to him, there was a man in the park behind him.

Between fourteen to sixteen rounds were fired into the tow truck from behind. One struck the agent in the hand.

Police and emergency medical support personnel were quick to arrive and render assistance to the agent and transported him to the hospital. NAR Services was immediately notified and rushed to the hospital to support the agent who was later released by 7am with future appointments to determine what additional surgeries or procedures will be needed to his wounded hand.

As previously mentioned, the entire event was captured on the truck’s cameras including the shooter. While difficult to identify in the dark and distance, the camera’s identifying his location help officers immediately locate the spent gun casings which hopefully will aid in their investigation.

The full video has not been released as the investigation is still ongoing.

Repossession Agent Shot in CharlotteAt this time, there are no known suspects or arrests. It is too early to determine if this was directly related to the repossession attempt or if it was a situation of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

The agent is reportedly safe and resting at home. While he appears to have done almost everything right, this incident serves as an important reminder for all agents to stay alert and be aware of their surroundings at all times.

We all pray for the speedy and complete recovery of this agent and hope that this serves as a teaching point for others so that we do not have to report more incidents like this.
