Denton, TX – 17 October 2018 – A 21-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday when she entered her vehicle while it was being towed by a Sanger company for a second time, according to a police report.
The report shows the woman’s vehicle was towed by the company on Monday. Police say the woman visited the company’s tow yard and drove away with her vehicle on Tuesday. The company reported to Sanger Police Department that the vehicle was stolen, and the company sent a truck to the woman’s residence in the 3400 block of Joyce Lane to repossess it again.
After the vehicle was hooked up to the truck, the woman allegedly came outside and got into the vehicle, trying to keep the tow truck driver from taking it again. The driver called Denton police.
The run-in with the police ended up with the woman being arrested on three warrants issued by the Westlake Police Department. Officers discovered the warrants after they ran her driver’s license. And when the woman reached into her bag to get the license, police said they noticed her bag contained a plastic bag with marijuana inside of it.
She was taken to jail for the three warrants and a charge of possession of marijuana. Denton police said Sanger police will handle the stolen-vehicle claims made by the tow company.
