The undersigned state repossession associations support the calls from the American Recovery Association (ARA) and Allied Finance Adjusters (AFA) for a meaningful conversation about the rising cost of professional recovery services and the long-term health and sustainability of our industry.

Recovery agencies across the country are facing substantial increases in fuel, insurance, equipment, labor, technology, compliance, and other operating costs. These expenses affect every assignment, including those that do not result in a recovery. At the same time, clients and forwarders depend on agencies capable of maintaining trained employees, safe and reliable equipment, adequate insurance coverage, broad geographic service areas, regulatory compliance, and consistently high standards of professional service.

We believe the people who rely on these services and the people who perform them need to discuss these challenges together.

We welcome a meaningful industry-wide conversation that examines the actual cost of servicing assignments, the operational demands placed on professional recovery agencies, and practical ways to sustain a qualified, compliant, and financially viable recovery network.
