Vista, CA – 2 December 2016 – Two alleged carjackers were arrested following a wild chase involving a repo truck in Vista Wednesday morning.
Authorities say a couple following a repo truck with a vehicle in tow pulled a shotgun out and fired at least one shot around 4:30 a.m. on Gopher Canyon Road.
The suspects continued following the truck and eventually crashed their vehicle into a ditch on East Vista Way.
The couple was armed with a shotgun when they crawled out of the crashed vehicle and then carjacked a woman driving a Mercedes, authorities said.
The couple took off in the Mercedes and made their way onto eastbound SR-76, eventually stopping at a nearby AM/PM. Deputies arrived at the convenience store within minutes and took the couple into custody.
The driver of the repo truck was not injured in the shooting and was able to meet up with Vista Sheriff’s deputies.
