Calhoun County, MI – September 19, 2025 – Broad daylight, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call about a disturbance. Upon arrival they discovered an injured repossession agent. His legs had been crushed between two cars causing significant injury.
On September the 18th at 10:19am, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call according to a news release from the county. Police believed that the repossession agent was attempting to tow a vehicle when he was intentionally struck by another vehicle.
The agent was pinned between two cars and suffered significant injuries. The agent was transported to a local hospital and listed in stable condition.
Deputies continued their investigation and were able to locate the vehicle they believed was used in the incident on the 100 block of Grenville Street in Battle Creek.
According to deputies, the vehicle showed damage consistent with the incident, according to the release.
Executing a search warrant at the residence, Deputies arrested a 28-year-old Battle Creek man.
The unnamed man was transported to and held in custody at the Calhoun County Jail. He faces charges of felonious assault, leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a revoked license and violation of a personal protection order.
The Sheriff’s Office states that the incident remains under investigation.
