Man was reportedly shot in the back
Memphis, TN – February 16, 2023 – Details are few at this point, but Memphis police responded to a shooting call at 1:25PM EST to find a man shot in the back. Moments later, police reported that they had two men detained away from the scene of the crime. A witness claimed that it all started over a repossession.
A witness to the incident reported to local news ABC24 that the incident began when the repossession agent made an attempt to repossess a vehicle when another man came out. The witness said that they had “got into it” before the unidentified man was shot in the back.
Memphis police did not elaborate with the news crew as to what started the incident but advised that had detained two persons in relation to it on I-40 at Warford. The ABC24 news team reported that their news crew had witnessed two tow trucks pulled over by police at this location.
The victim is reported to have been taken to Regional One Hospital with non-critical injuries.
At this time, no names have been released and it is unknown if the two detained agents are still in custody. It is likewise unknown if the unnamed victim was still in the hospital.
