Repossession Leads to Shotgun Standoff with Police

Goldsboro, MD – November 28, 2022 – Repossessor Joseph Lituski’s Monday just got a little worse when he met Thomas Lee Miller Jr. Perhaps it was the shotgun that made it that way, or perhaps it was his threat to kill him if he didn’t drop his car.

Deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the address of 421 Main Street in Goldsboro just after noon yesterday after receiving a report of a man pointing a shotgun at a repossession agent.

en the debtor emerged armed with a shotgun. Lowering it at him, he had allegedly threatened to shoot him if he did not release it.

Lituski immediately called the police which prompted Miller to further his threats against law enforcement.

Arriving Deputies attempted to make contact with Miller, who refused to speak to them and ordered them off of his property.

Eventually, after all efforts to get Miller to leave the residence and surrender had been exhausted, they requested both a crisis negotiation and tactical response teams from the Easton Police Department to respond to the scene.

Police shut down roads and asked that residents avoid the area temporarily until after several hours of negotiation, Miller surrendered.

He was taken into custody shortly before 4:30 pm.

Miller has been charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and rifle/shotgun possession by a disqualified person.
