CBS Channel 4 reporter’s interviewed family of the victim and neighbors on the 100 block of Carolina Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, where the shooting occurred. While none of those interviewed saw the altercation that occurred before the shooting, some did witness the aftermath.

Unidentified family members of the victim claim that the victim was visiting to visit his girlfriend and to help take care of one of his children when the incident occurred. It is inferred that the victim’s daughter witnessed the aftermath.

One witness claims that she heard four consecutive shots. “It sounded [like], ‘pop, pop, pop, pop.’ It was very loud,” she said.

Another, who shot a brief video from her apartment window, claims to have watched the aftermath and recalls a sudden change in the agent’s demeanor.

This witness stated; “The tow truck driver was just standing over the body on the phone. He looked up, started looking around, started seeing multiple people coming up, and that’s when he started jumping up and down saying, ‘I think I just killed a man,’”

In her video, you can see what appears to be the agent, or a family member sitting on the sidewalk across from where the victim laid.

Witness Robert Sowell claimed to have seen the agent drive away with the repossessed vehicle in tow almost immediately following the shooting and returning soon after before police arrived.

Sowell also claimed that; “I saw a little bit of the blood. I didn’t see him moving,”, “Don’t get me wrong, it took me for a bit of a loop because his daughter was actually just standing by the car by herself, so it hit me hard.”

No details as to the nature or severity of the altercation have been released as of yes. As of this time, no names have been released and no charges pressed against the agent.

Although it is unknown if the borrower was armed, this shooting strikes some resemblance to a shooting that occurred on October 13 of 2021 in San Antonio Texas where both the agent and the borrower were armed.
