Former Basketball Player Fires on Repo Agent
Oxford, MS – Taking free-throw shots is something every great basketball is a great way to score extra points. Taking shots at a repo man is a great way to end up in jail or worse as one former University basketball player learned the hard way.
On Friday the 26th at 5:07pm, an unnamed repossessor made an attempt at repossessing a vehicle in Oxford’s Price Hill Park area. During the attempt, at least one individual was reported to have opened fire on him.
Following a call on the shooting, arriving officers of the Oxford Police Department detained several persons of interest and began investigating the details of the shooting.
Results of the responding Detectives investigation concluded that former University of Mississippi Men’s Basketball team, 22-year-old Jamarion Demontrez Sharp, had allegedly Oxford fired a gun toward the person repossessing the vehicle.
No one was reported to have been injured.
Sharp was taken into custody and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked for aggravated assault. He was given a $100,000 bond by the Municipal Court Judge.
