February 25th – Fallen Agents Day

A day of remembrance for the forgotten

Tomorrow, February 25^th, marks the 28^th anniversary of the unprosecuted murder of recovery agent Tommy Deen Morris in Houston Texas. Last month I set forth the proposition that the industry set aside the date of February the 25th to honor these men, families, coworkers. It wasn’t a week later that we lost camera car driver Gustavo Macedo in Chicago. Tommy was not the first to die in the line of duty nor will Gustavo be the last. It is time that the lives of all of these men be remembered.

Our straw poll showed a mere 62% willing to close their operations for the day and 31% willing to honor their memories by the wearing of black arm bands to commemorate this day. While this is not a large number, it is a start.

For those of you unwilling to recognize this day through any form of outward display of unity, the choice is yours. I would hope that at very least, you will all say a prayer for their souls and pray for the safety of yourselves, coworkers and families.
