Where the repossession industry gets its news

Assaults On Repossession Agents Are on The Rise

Assaults On Repossession Agents Are on The Rise

From the Desk of the ARA President

To us, you are not just ARA members. You are husbands, wives, sons, daughters, grandparents, family members, friends, trusted peers… ARA exists to support and protect our members and our industry.

Assaults on repossession agents and repossession office employees is on the rise, and it’s unacceptable. Repossession agents and employees are on the front lines of this industry, working hard to make sure that people can maintain their possessions and to help keep our industry moving forward.  We must do something to protect them and the industry.

We must take a stand on this issue and create a culture of respect for those who put their lives on the line every day to make sure that the industry and our economy can continue to thrive. We must ensure laws are being followed when an agent is assaulted. We must ensure legislation is enacted to criminally prosecute those who violate the law. This will only aid our cause.

We must also take steps to ensure that repossession agents and repossession office employees are safe and secure while on the job. This includes ensuring they have the proper training and resources to do their job safely. It also means that they should be given the respect they deserve and that they should not be subject to verbal or physical abuse.

Finally, we must support repossession agents and repossession office employees who are facing these challenges. We can do this by raising awareness about the situation and by taking steps to support them financially. It’s time to stand up for those who are putting their lives on the line to protect this industry and our communities.

We’ll be discussing this more in the upcoming weeks and months, including an interactive discussion during my quarterly Fireside Chat in September, about what this looks like as an association.
