Helena, MT – 15 July 2018 – Nice try kid! A 19 year old Bozeman man has been charged with felony theft and stands accused of repainting a car and selling it for parts to avoid having it repossessed.
Benjamin Alex Justin Snell of Bozeman, called police on November 21, 2017, about a missing vehicle. At that time, Snell claimed that he had left the vehicle in a Helena parking lot to be picked up by a repossession agency, but the vehicle disappeared before the repo agents arrived.
Police talked to the assigned repossession agent who claimed that they had been unable to find the vehicle. According to the agent, the GPS unit on the vehicle used to track it’s location had been removed.

Officers eventually learned that the vehicle had allegedly been repainted by Snell and taken to a salvage shop to be parted out for resale and was still located there.
Snell was later taken into custody and being held in custody at the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
