Manor, TX – February 17, 2026 – The SUV waited patiently for the gate to open. But as soon as it could squeeze through the opening, it hit the gas. And as it turns out, for good reason. A gunman was chasing him on foot.

Dramatic video captured the moment a suspect fired shots at a fleeing SUV during a vehicle repossession in Manor, Texas.

According to FOX 7 Austin, the incident began when a repossession agent towed the SUV from a property.

The footage shows the suspect—wearing a red shirt—running after the vehicle as it drove through a gate, drawing a handgun and firing multiple rounds.

Police confirmed that at least one bullet struck the SUV.

Another vehicle was seen reversing out of a parking space as the shots were fired, but no injuries were reported.

The suspect was later taken into custody, per FOX 7.Authorities have not confirmed whether the suspect was the registered owner of the SUV or if any interaction occurred between him and the repossession agent before the shooting.

EDITORS NOTE: The absence of a tow truck and the “old school” repo driveaway of a modern vehicle hints that the repossession was probably conducted by a used car dealer or on behalf of one. In either case, in my humble opinion, amateurs should not be repossessing cars. Professionals hire professionals.
