According to warrants issued by the Villa Rica Police Department, Moore arrived at Undertow Recovery on Veterans Memorial Highway at approximately 1 a.m. on October 13th.

Police allege Moore entered a Ram 4500 tow truck and drove it through the facility’s front gate. Once inside, he reportedly located his Audi Q8, which had been repossessed earlier that day, and drove away.

Investigators estimated damage to the tow truck at $3,000 and damage to the gate at $1,500.

Moore was reportedly being held at the Douglas County Jail without bond following his arrest.

Bankruptcy Records Raise Questions

Federal bankruptcy records reveal that Moore had filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy protection on June 29, 2026, nearly four months before the incident.

The case, In re Bertram Leon Moore, No. 1:26-bk-58353, was filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia before Judge Lisa Ritchey Craig.

According to the available docket, an objection to a creditor’s claim was filed October 7th, followed by an October 8th certificate of mailing from the Bankruptcy Noticing Center concerning a court order.

The Audi was repossessed five days later, on October 13th.

Moore’s bankruptcy case was not dismissed until October 22, nine days after the repossession, following the denial of confirmation of his Chapter 13 repayment plan.

Under 11 U.S.C. § 362, bankruptcy filings generally trigger an automatic stay prohibiting creditors from repossessing collateral without court authorization, although exceptions and limitations apply.

The available records do not establish whether the Audi’s lender had obtained relief from the automatic stay or whether the October 7th and 8th docket entries were related to the vehicle.

The bankruptcy dismissal occurred after the repossession and would not, by itself, establish that the earlier recovery was authorized.

Regardless of the unresolved bankruptcy questions, Moore faces separate criminal charges arising from the alleged break-in and property damage.

He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
