Repo Industry Rallies in Support of Seriously Wounded Agent

Milwaukee, WI – January 1, 2026 – It’s been almost a week since 29-year-old Alfredo “Fredo” Martin, was shot while attempting a repossession in Milwaukee on Monday night. While he struggles to recover, the repossession industry has not been sitting still. In addition to a very successful GoFundMe campaign, agents rallied together in a tow truck procession to show their support.

More details have emerged on the shooting of Nationwide Recovery, Inc. employee Alfredo Martin on Monday night of December 29th . New accounts tell that Alfredo suffered a gunshot wound in his lower back. Doctors had to perform surgery to remove his appendix and reconstruct his lower intestine.

“Fredo”, a friend to fellow repo agent who works for a competitor company, Tony McCutchen, reported to the press that panic and fear set in as he wondered; “Am I going to see my buddy ever again, who’s just doing his job? Who’s just out, you know, doing his 9 to 5? Am I going to see this guy again?”

McCutchen, who rushed to the hospital stated, “To hear it, to feel it, to, you know, to show up at the hospital and see the man in a hospital bed. Definitely, you know, hits a place that you don’t think it ever will,” McCutchen said. “He’s a cool guy, laid back. He’s fun. Likes to have a good time. He does a lot of joking. Not too serious.”

Milwaukee police have reportedly identified two suspects but have not yet made an arrest.

In the meanwhile, fellow repossessors held an emotional and supportive tow truck procession outside the hospital to show their support as he struggles to recover from this senseless injury.

And almost immediately, a GoFundMe page was established to raise funds for Fredo to help him and his family financially as they fight to overcome this tragedy. As of the time of this writing, more than $13,000 has been raised with the contributions of his repossession industry brothers and sisters.

Fredo’s journey to recovery will likely be a long one and let us all keep him in out prayers and thoughts.
