Tow Truck Tantrum: Epic Fail in Repossession Custody Battle

 

Polk County, FL – January 13, 2025 – In a panic, he tugged at the tow truck with a frown, but instead of escape, he just wore his tires down. He attacked the tow equipment and caused quite a sight, only to later meet a K-9, who ensured surrender that night.

It was at about 11:00 am on Friday the 10th, when the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a regarding a violent incident in progress on Burr Drive. Arriving on site, officers were advised by an unnamed repossession agent that he had come to the residence to repossess a white 2014 Ford F-150.

It was then, it is alleged, that the borrower, 34-year-old Minor Blanco Salas, became violent.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Blanco Salas first tried to drive his truck away while it was already hooked up to the tow truck, but his attempt was unsuccessful. He then climbed onto the back of the tow truck and tried to disable the towing equipment, causing damage in the process.

By the time Deputies had arrived, Salas had retreated into the residence. Uncooperative with officers verbal efforts to get him to come out, he was easily convinced with the assistance of a K9 unit. Salas then surrendered peacefully without further incident.

Salas was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail, where he was charged with: Resisting an officer, Burglary of a conveyance, Felony criminal mischief.
