A Repossession Industry Pioneer Passes

Allen M. “Bud” Krohn

1927 – 2023

On Saturday, June 17^th, 2023, early repossession industry pioneer Alan M. “Bud” Krohn passed away at the age of 96. I’d like to say it was a surprise when I got the call, but I wasn’t. 96-years is a pretty full life and Bud had lived it to the fullest. He was one of the many leaders and pioneers in the repossession industry whose career spanned over fifty years and was a great influence and mentor to many of us in the industry.

Bud was the owner of “National Auto Recovery Bureau” (NARB) that covered most of California from 1975 to 2005. He was involved in many of the industries early adoptions of technology and served as President of the National Finance Adjusters (NFA) in 1986 and served as its Chairman for several years after.

Bud was a mentor and friend to many in the repossession industry during his life, including myself, and will be missed for the kind, friendly and sincere man that he was. I could write volumes about Bud but will refrain at this time until later. Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced and I will share those with you when announced.
