Dillon County, SC – October 28, 2021 – The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting during a repossession attempt at the popular “South of the Border” attraction.
The incident began Thursday at about 11am when authorities were called over the incident, which allegedly began at a different location when unknown repossession agent(s) made an apparently failed attempt.
Apparently, the agent(s) followed the debtor to the iconic “South of the Border” gas station and restaurant and made a second attempt.
That’s when the borrower went to a second vehicle and grabbed a gun. Shattered glass littered the scene at the gas station, but no one is reported to have been hurt.
Police report that the unnamed woman was arrested and taken to the Dillon County Detention Center. The name(s) or employer of the agents involved is likewise unknown.
