The Eagles - Keeping Score on Bad Clients

Beware the Eagle’s Talon

The members of Eagle Group XX/USA, numbering close to 100 with their affiliates, have created a new tool to keep members aware of lenders, brokers, and forwarders who do not pay invoices, delay paying invoices, and demonstrate unscrupulous business practices… the RR/CBR monthly warning list.

RR is the acronym for RETAINER REQUIRED and if you are on the RR/CBR List the Eagle Group member will probably be requiring a retainer be paid prior to working any account for your entity.

CBR is the acronym for CASH BEFORE RELEASE and again, if you are on the RR/BBR list you may be required to pay all charges prior to your vehicle being released.

The recovery agency is the hub of the wheel in the asset recovery industry and the wheel does not turn without the efforts of the men and women in the agency offices and in the field. From the support personnel taking assignments, verifying data, skip tracing, and issuing reports to the field agents who put their lives on the line every day performing an often thankless and dangerous job of physically recovering the vehicle to the person who has to sift through roach and vermin infected vehicles performing personal property inventories and condition reports… all these people deserve to be paid for their efforts.

The agency owners must see the employees are paid, the insurance premiums are paid, the utilities are paid, the storage lot payments are made, the tow truck payment and repair bills are paid, as well as all other expenses and then they must wait for the clients to pay them.

Therein hangs the twisted tale of clients who find micro-technical reasons not to pay a full invoice or delay remitting owed funds until they are absolutely forced to pay, and who many times after they have possession of the collateral, just flat refuse to pay. These are the entities who, deservedly, end up on the “Eagle Group RR/CBR List”.

Any member of the Eagle Group XX/USA may submit a request for an entity to be placed on the RR/CBR List, detailing the reasons for the submission. The information is verified and if found valid the list is updated with the information and sent out to all members immediately. The only person who may remove a listing is the person who submitted it and, in a case where more than one agency has submitted the same entity all members must agree to remove the name.

The RR/CBR List is circulated to Eagle Group XX/USA members and affiliates only and no financial information is disclosed, no blacklisting or refusing to work for the listed entity is encouraged. The RR/CBR List is merely a cautionary monthly bulletin for Eagle Group XX/USA members to enable them to make wise business decisions based on a potential client’s past performance.

To be placed on this list is certainly an industry “black eye”, requires up front funds prior to assigning an account and full payment prior to release of the collateral and indicates a poor performance on the part of the listed entity. Many recovery agencies do not want the financial headache and stress of dealing with RR/CBR listed entities and it is their prerogative to refuse to work for the listee.

If you find your company on this list and wish to be removed, you may contact the Eagle Group Facilitator, Ron Brown, for information on the removal process.

BEWARE OF THE EAGLE’S TALON!
