Where the repossession industry gets its news

The RABF – Gratitude and Giving

The RABF – Gratitude and Giving

To date the Recovery Agents Benefit Fund has assisted over 120 families with disbursements totaling over $677,000.

This amazing accomplishment would not be possible without the support of the repossession industry.  Giving to and supporting the RABF can happen in many different ways and the Board of the RABF and our advisory committee sincerely thanks every person, company, and organization that finds it in their heart and business culture to help.

Organizations like Recovery Specialist Insurance Group, Allied Finance Adjusters Conference Inc and American Recovery Association host events annually that provide the RABF opportunities to fundraise and for attendees to give back.  In 2022, these annual events raised over $44,000 in total to benefit the RABF, which includes additional funds ($22,000) received in September from ARA for the NARS event hosted this June in Denver.  At these events there are often auction events or raffles where companies and individuals like DRN, Dynamic Towing & Equipment, Miller Industries, Martin Giles from Atlanta Wrecker Sales, Detroit Wrecker Sales, Midwest Auto Auctions, BB Towing & Recovery in Hawaii, and others, donate items for auction or raffle which are what drive the donations from these annual events.

We are thankful for organizations like American Recovery Service/PK Willis who have established and maintained monthly donations to the RABF for years and companies like Credit Acceptance Corporation who hold fundraising efforts with their employees to be able to donate annually to the RABF.

Repossession companies like Final Notice Recovery, Rapid Recovery Agency and Assets Biz donate monthly through recurring donations via PayPal.  We thank individuals like Bryanna Cox from Texas who set up Facebook campaigns requesting donations for the RABF for her Birthday because it is a special cause to her.

AmazonSmile remains a simple and small way to help the RABF, especially during the holiday season.  When shopping through AmazonSmile, Amazon donates .5% of eligible purchases to your selected charity.  Through AmazonSmile eligible purchase donations, the RABF has received $1,959.98.  Funds are received quarterly and purchases must be made through the AmazonSmile page.  You can set up AmazonSmile on a desktop, laptop, tablet or even on your cell phone.

Be sure you see this in your header and that you have selected the Recovery Agents Benefit Fund as your chosen charity.  You can learn more about AmazonSmile by visiting this link:  https://smile.amazon.com/charity/smile/about?ref_=smi_se_rspo_laas_aas

And, everyday, we are learning of even more ways that individuals and companies are trying to help.  Stealth Towing and Recovery Services LLC in Texas recently set up payroll deductions for their staff who want to support the RABF and from that single company, the RABF is expected to receive over $600 per month; that is from one company with employees making donations in amounts from $5 per pay check to $35 per pay check.  Recovery Zone in Massachusetts, set up their DRN revenue share to come direct to the RABF.   The ways to support and give are endless.

Whatever way you choose to help, be it buying a raffle ticket for the Dynamic Slide In Unit, bidding on auction items at industry events, joining the $500 club, revenue share, payroll deduction, birthday fundraisers, shopping through AmazonSmile, know that your contribution matters.  Over 120 families have felt your love and support in some of their darkest times and while we wish this fund would not be necessary, with your support we will continue to be here for the families of the repossession industry.  Thank you!

Many thanks to those working to benefit the RABF behind the scenes – George “Bud” Wilkins Jr. – Board Chairman, Edward Marcum – Vice-Chairman, Dana Loan –  Secretary/Treasurer & Advisory Committee Members: John Michel – Committee Chairman, Mike Howk, Dave Baker, Marcelle Egley-Sparks, George Badeen, Bennett Deese, Ron Brown. John Michel – RABF Website development and hosting.  Diane Kirzl, Certified Public Accountant – RABF accounting services.
