Borrower Fleeing Repo Man Dies of Heart Attack

 

Detroit, MI – September 4, 2015 – A confrontation started with car repossession in Detroit. Now a repo man is recovering from his injuries and the man accused of attacking him, is dead.

Dan Conway went to the 9000 block Archdale in northwest Detroit to repo a 2005 Ford Focus. He found the Ford in the driveway but also found trouble.

“He was in the car when I tried to hook up to it,” Conway, of Michigan Recovery Services said. “I got out and tried to talk to him but he said ‘No you’re not getting it.'”

Conway said the man then slammed the Ford in gear and drove up Dan’s foot and right leg. Conway, who ran to safety, had his leg cut by the bumper. The driver blows through the fence, driving into the backyard.

Conway said he has had problems with the man in the past.

The man appeared to begin having a heart attack.  Detroit Fire EMS rushed the man to Sinai Grace Hospital but police and the family say the man could not be revived.

Police and the family say he died from the heart attack.

The suspect’s wife told us her husband was 54 years old. She said her husband’s heart attack caused him to crash through the fence.

“He started slumping to the side and then the car started going she said.

Following the chaos, Conway said his thoughts were with the family.
