Armed Borrower Tries to Ram Gate

Memphis, TN – December 7, 2022 – It’s become a common occurrence. A borrower shows up under the pretense of getting their personal property only to go on an unhinged rampage. This time they brought a gun.

25-year-old Riccola Ward’s Kia Rondo was repossessed and taken to the dealer who sold it to her and probable lender, the Car Brothers Auto Sales & Repair on the 5000 block of Summer Avenue. The co-owner of the lot allowed Ward to come to the lot in order to retrieve her belongings.

However, once inside the vehicle, Ward allegedly started the car and drove it into the gate trying to steal the car back. Unsuccessful in her efforts, Ward then allegedly produced a handgun and demanded employees to open the gate.

After their refusal and probable outright fleeing the danger, Ward then jumped the fence attempting to escape the scene of her probable premeditated meltdown. Fortunately, no shots were fired and no one is reported as injured.

The victims said no shots were fired.

Ward was later arrested and has been charged with aggravated assault. She was reported as being held on a $7,500 bond and scheduled to appear in court on December 13th.
