Suspect Brandishes Handgun to Stop Auto Repossession

Escondido, CA – 31 January 2020 – A San Diego Borrower was arrested for threatening a Repo Man with what appeared to be a hand gun. A later search of his home revealed otherwise, but landed him in jail regardless.

On January 22, an unnamed repo man was attempting to legally repossess a car from the driveway of a residence on the 500 block of N. Midway Drive when an unidentified resident emerged from within, allegedly brandishing what appeared to be a handgun and demanding that the repossessor abandon his efforts to recover the subject vehicle.

The repossession agent left the scene and contacted the Escondido Police Department, who arrived to investigate. A search warrant was obtained for the residence and the suspect was taken into custody.

The search revealed that the handgun alleged to have been brandished at the recovery agent was a “Glock” replica pellet gun.

The suspect was arrested for carjacking and booked into county jail.
