Kenna ,WV – 30 July 2018 – A man was arrested for allegedly firing a weapon at a repossession agent attempting to repossess his vehicle.
James Albert Ramos, 53, of Kenna was charged with wanton endangerment involving a firearm. His bond is set at $10,000.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Lt. Todd Roberts of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, on Monday, July 23, the repossession agent called 911 to report that he had been shot at on Fisher Ridge Road while attempting to repossess a vehicle.
Deputies Roberts and Saltsgaver met with the reported victim, who claimed that he went to an address on Fisher Ridge Road to repossess a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu from James Ramos, according to the complaint. The victim reported that Ramos was initially calm, but when the victim began to hook up the vehicle to the tow truck, Ramos allegedly stated he was going inside to get a gun.
Ramos allegedly returned from inside and fired several rounds while standing next to the back of the tow truck, while the victim was on the phone with his boss, who advised him to drop the vehicle and leave. according to the complaint.
According to the complaint., after speaking with the alleged victim, the deputies went to Ramos’ residence and found him not home. Deputies then learned from a neighbor that Ramos had gone to “straighten things out with the bank,”
While Deputies Saltsgaver and Roberts were at the residence, Ramos returned. Ramos allegedly admitted to firing rounds into the air while the victim was hooking up the car, the complaint states. Ramos gave the officers the firearm.
