GUEST EDITORIAL
Allied finance adjusters would like to urge all recovery company personnel to use caution while repossessing collateral for our clients. We are currently dealing with the COVID virus and the possible exposure of our employees. As owners we all can help ensure safety by requiring personnel to follow proper sanitizing procedures and minimize the risk of exposure.
We now have a new risk: the risk of violence against our agents. This is not a new risk in every area of the country, but it has certainly become a much higher risk everywhere now. The death of George Floyd was tragic and our hearts go out to the family. His death and the violence that has emerged in the country has sparked a whole new threat of violence against repo agents. Our trucks and equipment are “giant billboards” and when entering a neighborhood are certainly going to be noticed.
Allied Finance Adjusters is urging our members and everyone in the industry to use extreme caution in the performance of your duties. Know when to walk away—and know when to run. Keep your eyes open and stay safe!
