Where the repossession industry gets its news

Help Needed for the “History of the Repossession Industry” Book

In April, some good friends suggested that I write a book chronicling the history of the repossession industry. I already had some good basis for an outline and expanded from there. From there, I received some great information from Millard Land, Kevin McGivern, Mark Summs and Chuck Cowherd from the Allied Finance Adjusters and was able to complete most of the outline. But I’m hitting a wall on some people and developments in the history that I could really use some help with.

If anyone could provide me photos or stories on any of the below persons or topics, I would really appreciate it.

  • Early 1960’s-1970’s ARA Directory Covers
  • Early 1960’s-1970’s TFA Directory Covers
  • Early 1950’s-1990’s NFA Directory Covers
  • Early Association Directory Rate Sheets
  • Early Association Meeting Photos
  • Lorna Lou Barnes – Stories or Photos
  • 1925, William Greenwood of “Greenwoods Garage” in Baltimore, Maryland – Stories or Photos
  • Connie Wembish founder of the “Home Detective Agency” in Greensboro, North Carolina – Stories or Photos
  • Fred G. Summs Sr. – Stories or Photos
  • Ray Barnes of the Auto Recovery Bureau of New York City, Founder of the National Association of Allied Finance Adjusters –  Stories or Photos
  • George Turner, 1941 – Founder of the National Finance Adjusters
  • 1970’s photos of Kevin McGivern and Huey Marone, Founders of the modern ARA
  • Early LPR cameras and years of introduction
  • “Transformer” and “Illusionist” in bed tow booms – photos and history
  • Wilfred “Will” Rivera – Photo
  •  Tools – Slide hammers, tryout keys, force tools, rocker picks, etc. – Photos needed

Any and all help is appreciated.
