Donna, TX – 19 March 2019 – Five people have been arrested following an afternoon repossession attempt on Tuesday, where the agent was reportedly greeted by gunfire from the residence.
According to Police, an unnamed repossession agent arrived at a residence in the 3200 block of N. Golie Road to repossess a reported storage trailer, when Police report that the agent came under rifle fire from one of the residents, possibly intoxicated according to police.
Upon the arrival of police, the homeowners refused to leave the house and San Juan’s SWAT team was called in for assistance.
Due to the proximity of a local middle school, the students were placed on lockdown and parents had to wait behind a cordoned off area while the situation developed.
Police report that after 45 minutes of negotiations, they were finally able to get the four males and one female to surrender and leave the house. The allegedly fired weapon was recovered.
All five of the individuals in the house were arrested and are facing charges of aggravated assault and possession.
Further investigation is being conducted on the legality of the repossession attempt.
