CURepossession

Where the repossession industry gets its news

Giving Thanks – Guest Editorial (Look Closely)

GUEST EDITORIAL

I would like to begin first by giving thanks to god, just got my third grandchild on Thanksgiving day, beautiful healthy baby girl! I would also like to give thanks that my driver, my son, was not hurt when a bullet hit the drivers door of the truck last night while he was out looking for a car.

If you look at the picture you will see the bullet hole right under the driver’s door side view mirror. It could only have been god’s will that kept him safe, that kept that bullet just right out of in front of him.

He didn’t see the shooter not did he hear the shot, just heard a loud bang hit the truck.

What would have happened I ask myself if he was one lane over to the left or traveling 2-4 mph faster???

To all the agents out there doing what we do, putting your lives out on the line every day… Just like a police officer of a fireman, recovery agents cross the country risk their lives every day…for what… ??? So we can make a living, provide a future for our families.

I want to ask everyone out there who reads this to stop what your doing, right now… and take a moment and reflect. Give thanks for the things you have, your family, your health!

Being a recovery agent is not for everyone, it takes a special breed of person to do this job, do it right and hopefully come home safe.

Getting hurt on any job is a tough thing to have to deal and in this industry where we are under appreciated, under paid, clients expecting all the bells and whistles for one low basement bargain price…makes you wonder why in the hell we even do it at all!

To the RABF, I give thanks to you guys who year after year work hard to help those who have been injured or have suffered losses while working in this industry.

To the quality book of clients who support the RABF, who recognize that fair wages/rates should be set by the recovery agency themselves and not the middleman brokers who have done nothing but turn the recovery industry upside down, I want to also give thanks to you!

To the middleman brokers who disagree with me, I am not alone with this line of thinking. I do maintain faith that one day you will really understand the message.

Christmas time is upon us and all I want for Christmas this year is to hear “NO BAD NEWS” on anyone getting hurt while trying to recover a piece of collateral.

To everyone out there in the truck working assignments, may the lord protect you and bring you home safe every day!

Thanks and God Bless,
