Crowd Cheers as Repo Stolen Off Wrecker

Denton, TX – 5 August 2020 – An early morning repossession drew a small crowd of cheering spectators for an unidentified man who drove a repossessed vehicle off of a wheel life Tuesday morning.

A repossessor reported a disturbance at 1:37am on the 200 block of South Bonnie Brae Street. Responding officers reported that a repossessor reported that he believed the owner of a sedan he was in the process of repossessing had driven the vehicle off of his tow truck.

Police reported that the caller was starting to pull away with the vehicle in tow when a person leaped over an apartment balcony behind the truck, jumped into the car and drove it off the lift.

The repossessor claimed that seven to eight people then emerged from the same apartment unit cheering as the person drove the repossession off of the lift, causing an estimated $426 in damage to the loading mechanism. The person then fled the apartment complex parking lot in the repossession, according to the police report.

Police are still investigating the matter and it is not confirmed if the person who drove the vehicle off the lift is the borrower.
