Borrower Damages Repossession Truck in Failed Attempt to Flee

San Diego, CA – 6 February 2020 – A borrower attempted, unsuccessfully, to rip his car from the lift of a repossession employees tow truck this morning causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Police responded to a call at around 2 am Thursday morning at the 4300 block of Altadena Ave. in the Colina Del Sola neighborhood regarding a reported incident involving a vehicle repossession attempt.

According to responding officers, a Repo Man arrived at the address to repossess a car. After successfully hooking the vehicle up, the registered owner jumped into the vehicle and attempted take it back.

The vehicle still attached to the tow truck’s wheel lift, the borrower frantically attempted to drive off of the lift, only managing to get the front wheels to spin and causing the car to swing back and forth, causing damage to the rear of the tow truck.

The repossession agent called police, who detained the borrower but did not arrest him. It is expected that the repossession company will file a lawsuit to recover damages caused to the recovery vehicle.
