Washington, MO – 12 July 2018 – A Washington woman has been arrested and charged for attempting to spit on police officers after refusing to leave her car as it was being repossessed.
At Franklin County Associate Circuit Court, 32 year old Victoria Woodard, has been charged with one count of third degree felony assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and two misdemeanor charges for assaulting police officers.
According to a probable cause statement, The Washington Police were called to the 600 block of Walnut St. for a reported disturbance. Responding officers were advised that a repossession company was attempting to repossess Woodard’s vehicle when she allegedly jumped into the vehicle and refused to get out.
The report alleges that Woodard started the car and put it in reverse, attempting to back the car from the tow dolly attached to the tow truck. The Repossession Agent then raised the wheel lift to stop her from driving off the tow dolly.
according to the probable cause statement, the responding officers attempted to stop Woodard from fleeing with the vehicle, but she refused to follow the officers instructions.
Woodard allegedly attempted to spit at the officers after which, they used a baton to break the passenger side front window.
Woodard then, allegedly, picked up some of the broken glass and threw it at an officer striking him.
Police tasered Woodward and she exited the vehicle and placed her under arrest.
Woodard was taken to a local hospital where police claim that she continued to verbally abuse officers.
Woodard is being held on a $20,000 cash only bond in the Franklin County jail.
