American Repossessor Magazine Will Arrive Soon
PRESS RELEASE
FLORIDA 04/09/2024 – Repossession industry veteran of 40-plus years and original publisher of Professional Repossessor Magazine is at it again. Mark Lacek, repossession agency owner and founding publisher of the Professional Repossessor Magazine (PRM) announced his newest printed magazine for the repossession market to launch soon, called American Repossessor Magazine (ARM).
Lacek has been featured in major media outlets writing a monthly column titled Repo Run in the American Towman Magazine for more than 100 monthly issues as well as writing a monthly column in TowTimes magazine for more than 20 issues. Lacek is also the author of the Certified Commercial Recovery Agent (CCRA) National Certification Program which is available on the Recovery Industry Services Company (RISC) compliance and certification web platform.
The premier issue of PRM was introduced in January of 1997; it highlighted repossession industry legend Harvey Altes on its cover titled “The Godfather.” PRM was hailed as a tremendous success and was said to have “brought the repossession industry out of the darkness and into the light,” as stated in its premier issue.
“With the introduction of PRM, the repossession industry became more accessible, and more professional,” said Lacek. PRM offered suppliers of products and services a direct conduit to an industry which was veiled in secrecy.
“The repossession industry is again ready for a monthly magazine,” said Lacek, who will be the publisher and owner of the American Repossessor Magazine. “The industry is in trouble; more recovery agents have been killed and injured in the last 18 months than in the last 50 years. Consumers are also becoming injured and even killed because of the absence of training, certification, and credentialing. The industry is segmented, and profits are almost non-existent. American Repossessor Magazine will highlight Recovery agencies and repossessors on its cover every month. The American Repossessor will include important monthly columns on safety, insurance, education, laws, and new and existing legislation.”
A special department on State and National repossession associations, conferences, and conventions will also be included in every issue. Recovery industry professionals will also learn about towing certification and training on light-, medium- and heavy-duty towing.
“The primary objective of American Repossessor Magazine will be addressing the issue of agent safety. I believe, as we have done in the past, we will change the repossession industry towards safety and the highest degree of professional standards,” said Lacek. “I expect my friends and associates to bring to me their ideas and suggestions during this year’s NARS Summit. I want to hear from everyone, their ideas, and suggestions as the American Repossessor Magazine will be for the benefit of all repossession agencies and their employees across America.”
Lacek brings with him the 20-plus years’ editorial experience and expertise of Brendan Dooley, whose publishing resume includes daily newspapers, monthly consumer and hobbyist publications and multiple monthly trade magazines—including 10 years at American Towman before the pandemic struck. Since then, Dooley has gone back to school to strengthen his resume achieving his Masters of Library and Information Sciences with honors, specializing in reference work, research and archival processing. He is developing an editorial and graphics team to work with Lacek and contributors to create a repossessor-forward publication focused on their issues, equipment and suppliers.
