MO Repo Company Owner Murdered

Marble Hill, MO – August 10, 2012 – A repo company owner and father of four was found murdered by a gunshot to the back of the head in rural Bollinger County on Thursday the 6th. Police have a long list of suspects and have not ruled out that the killing may have been retaliation for a repossession.

Autopsy results confirmed the manner of death as a homicide of Jeffery Scott Robins, 35, owner of HJR Towing and Recovery in Marble Hill, who was found dead in his rural Bollinger County home Thursday, confirmed Robins’ manner of death and that it was a homicide.

Investigators said they wouldn’t release the caliber of gun that was used to aid in the investigation and that there is “a long list” of people who they are exploring as potential suspects or people of interest in the case, but that none yet had developed as a solid suspect.

“He was acquainted with quite a few people that would possibly do him harm,” Bollinger County Sheriff Leo McElrath said Friday night.

Robins was found dead in his rural Bollinger County home in the area known as Bessville on Thursday by his children.

The death is being investigated as a homicide by the Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad.

With the funeral Tuesday morning, friends and family members of the 35-year-old repo man were clinging close to Robins’ mother and father and trying to be patient for answers. Robins’ mother, Linda Lou Robins, told a reporter she was still too shaken to talk about her son.

Family members are still in disbelief that someone would want to kill the beloved father of four who, as one close relative put it, Robins “had a huge heart and an “amazing life.”

Funeral services will be held on Tues, Sept. 11, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Bowan officiating. Burial will follow in the Glen Allen Cemetery.
