Stealing Repo Man’s Keys Leads to Burglary Charges for Uncooperative Borrower

Bryan, TX – September 7, 2012 – A 26 year old man faces burglary charges after stealing the keys to a repo man’s tow truck during a repossession last Thursday.

According to the police report, the incident started as a repo man attempted to repossess the 26-year-old’s Chevy Suburban. The accused then got into the tow truck, lowered the lift and grabbed three sets of keys while a woman drove away with the Suburban.

The 26-year-old the allegedly ran to an apartment, throwing one of the key sets onto the roof before going inside.

Officers said that maintenance had to use a ladder to retrieve the keys, and the other sets were found on a bed in the 26-year-old’s apartment.

The 26-year-old was charged with a Class A misdemeanor for burglary of a vehicle, punishable by a year in jail and a $4,000 fine. He was released Thursday afternoon after posting a $4,000 bail.
