Morgan County, GA – March 3, 2026 – In quiet rural Morgan County, Georgia, chaos erupted on February 25 as deputies raced to a tense standoff on Teal Court. What began as an auto repossession spiraled into an armed confrontation with threats, firearms, and illicit drugs.
Jerry’s Sherard Robertson, 38, of Madison, found himself at the center of a storm when Deputies arrived to reports of a repossession agent being threatened with a gun while attempting to recover a black Honda. Upon arrival, officers discovered the vehicle already hooked to the tow truck, with a woman gripping the wheel in the driver’s seat and Robertson defiantly occupying the passenger side.
The situation escalated dramatically when Robertson was ordered out of the vehicle at gunpoint. While the woman eventually emerged, she allegedly unleashed a torrent of verbal abuse toward the officers throughout the encounter.
Investigators quickly identified Robertson as a convicted felon, immediately raising the stakes. Officers conducted a search of a second vehicle on the property yielded chilling discoveries: a rifle and a pistol, weapons that a convicted felon had no legal right to possess.
With the Honda removed from the scene, deputies secured a search warrant on the residence based on the serious allegation of an armed threat.
The drama reached its climax inside the residence when Robertson slipped away to hide in a back room where deputies tracked him down. There, amid the tension, they uncovered suspected methamphetamine.
Robertson now faces serious felony charges: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of methamphetamine.
