Atlanta, GA – January 31, 2025 – Early Thursday morning, a woman was shot following a dispute with a repossessor outside a residence on Campbellton Road NW, according to Atlanta police. What is unclear is, who shot her?
Officers responded to the scene in the 3800 block of Campbellton Road NW around 1:33 a.m., where they found a woman who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. She was promptly transported to a local hospital and was stable at the time of transport.
Investigators reported that the incident stemmed from the victim witnessing a repossessor attempting to repossess her friend’s vehicle. A confrontation ensued between the woman and the repossessor, which tragically ended with the shooting. The repossessor then fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind.
After the shooting, the driver left the vehicle he was trying to tow and later called 911, claiming he was being shot at.
Detectives believe another male may have been involved in the incident as the investigation continues.
The Atlanta Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Police have not identified any of the individuals involved.
