Merrimack, NH – January 20, 2023 – Sometimes one weapon just doesn’t seem like a strong enough threat to stop a repossession. At least that’s how one man’s mind was working last Thursday night. It’s just a little odd that one would be a BB gun.
It was about 8:50pm when police responded to a call from a repossession agent claiming to have just been threatened by a borrower armed with a shotgun, a pistol and a knife.
According to the reporting officers, 38-year-old Gregory Isabelle, stormed out of his home armed to the teeth as the agents were in the process of repossessing his car. Aiming what appeared to be a shotgun at one of the agents, he’d threatened to shoot him if they didn’t leave.
Officers later recovered the shotgun and determined it was a BB gun, which perhaps explains some of what happened next.
Switching to the pistol tucked into his waistband, he then allegedly brandished it before pulling a knife and threatening to stab one of the repossession agents. Choosing the wise course of action, the agents retreated and called police.
Police took Isabelle into custody with no reported struggle and charged him with two counts of felony criminal threatening with a deadly weapon and one charge of misdemeanor criminal threatening.
released on personal recognizance bail. He is expected in court next month.
