Woman Allegedly Dragged by Repossessors

Orangeburg, SC – December 7, 2022 – It was just after one in the morning Wednesday when Orangeburg County Sheriffs Officers responded to a call from a woman claiming that she had been dragged a quarter of a mile down the road.

According to the police report, the woman reported to arriving officers that repossession agents had come to her house attempting to repossess their car. With the car lifted on their lift, the unnamed agents reportedly allowed her husband to go inside of it and retrieve some money and some water.

The vehicle was apparently lifted by the rear end as the woman reportedly stood by the open door of the car. For reasons in dispute, the agents began towing the vehicle away with the man in the car and the woman trapped between the door and the direction the vehicle was being towed.

The man claims that the agents finally stopped and allowed them to gather their belongings.

The woman complained of injuries to her leg, which she was transported to the Regional Medical Center for treatment of.

The agents called the Sheriffs office complaining that the man wouldn’t get out of the vehicle.
